“There is a spiritual solution to every problem,” said Dr. Wayne Dyer. When these words are mentioned, all those in search of motivational fundamental, at least in the last three decade until now, are reminded of the person who could give people a new insight in the form as we presently know. These words are reminiscent of the loving and enthusiastic face of a man whose death at the age of 75 was announced in all media on Monday, August 29, 2015, when he hastened toward that same place he wanted.
“Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night. He always said he couldn't wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side. We love you forever dad.” This is the first announcement of Dr. Wayne Dyer's death, which was put on his Facebook page by his family members.
Wayne Dyer's official website announced his death by publishing a sentence by him saying, “We are not our bodies, our possessions, or our career. Who we are is divine love, and that is infinite.” Dr. Dyer is the most popular teacher in the mind/body/spirit genre, he affectionately called the “father of motivation” by his fans, and in 2011, Watkins Magazine introduced Wayne Dyer as the third influential spiritual person in the world after “Eckhart Tolle” and “Dalai Lama” while he had always been introduced as an influential spiritual person in the years before and after. Over the four decades of his career, Wayne wrote more than 40 books (21 of which became New York Times bestsellers. Many of interpretations, examples, and translations by Wayne Dyer are from the poems of Masnavi by Mawlana (Rumi). Wayne Dyer said: “I have been thinking about the spiritual saint, Mawlana Jalal al-Din Rumi, Persian mystical poet and Sufi saint, Rumi writes about the pure love we can achieve, beyond ego, in the soul's divine longing and ecstasy of union with God, I have been reading and quoting Rumi for almost 30 years now. He has become a very significant figure in my life, on a par with so many of the spiritual teachers whom I have written about. In fact, I've been almost obsessed with the life of this man considered to be a saint in both the Muslim and Christian worlds - his importance is considered to transcend national and ethnic borders.”
Wayne always tried to make human beings aware of the point that we are a piece of God, and we are much bigger and greater than what we would imagine. So far, several million dollars have been endowed to charity institutions and special disease foundations every year from sale of his books and ticket of his seminars. His voluntary social services were unique, and he called people for service based on this poem by Rumi (Mawlana): “This world is a mountain, in which your works are echoed back to you.” Dr. Dyer used to say: “Whenever you tell the world that you are ready for service, the world will tell you: I am at your service too.” This was the basis and foundation for Wayne Dyer's work. He emphasized the fact that all we will need for our life journey is already given to us.
Dr. Dyer was diagnosed with leukemia but felt he was able to eliminate it from his body and the medical report confirms what he already knew, 3 days after his death, a statement on Dyer's Facebook page said a coroner's report indicated “he did not have a trace of leukemia in his body.”
Maybe we can find all his biography with a simple search but what we cannot achieve is the influences made by this spiritual mentor in the world. He always worked hard in the path of peace and establishing love among different societies, and he has tried to inform people about detachment from this world and attention to the world of meaning. Although Wayne Dyer had his own special spiritual manners and path of enlightenment, he always tried to introduce his own experience of getting close to the source of being in a manner so that all people including religious people and others can connect to his sayings. Dr. Dyer left his body, returning to Infinite Source to embark on his next adventure…..but we never forget you, Wayne.
